With concern for the environment, TJM Innovations/GutterStuff® has been conducting tests to insure the environmental compliance of its products. An evaluation of water runoff through polyurethane foam filter systems done by the independent Underwriters Laboratory and Lebermuth Laboratories concluded that the foam used in GutterStuff® meets applicable EPA lead and antimony release standards. We take pride in the care we take in our manufacturing processes to achieve these environmentally friendly results.
TJM Innovations requested similar tests on samples of 4 competitive products on the market: Rapid Flow®, Rain Filter™, Leaf Defier®, and Gutter Fill®. These tests concluded that 2 of the 4 competitive products, Rain Filter™ and Leaf Defier®, both exhibited problems with chemicals released through water runoff. The tests further indicated that all 4 competitive brands had instances of elevated levels of antimony and/or lead release in their products.
A recent study done by Vision Marketing and Technologies, Inc. found that GutterStuff®, when compared to other brands of foam filter systems, has the most foam per cubic foot, or more volume, than other brands. Rapid Flow®, Rain Filter™, Leaf Defier®, and Gutter Fill® all tested as having less foam, and less volume than GutterStuff®. In fact, GutterFIll®’s top dimension (4 ¾”) didn’t even fill a standard 5” aluminum gutter; it left a ½” space that would allow leaves and pine needles to get caught and trapped.
